India's new Embassy and residence is located in the Tiergarten diplomatic quarter. The residence is a free-standing building in the southern part of the property while the embassy is on Tiergartenstraße. The ground and first floor are for public business. The top three floors comprise offices for the embassy staff. The ambassador's office is in a representative cylindrical building in the embassy gardens which is connected with the embassy building. The embassy and residence have been designed by the Berlin firm of architects, Léonwohlhage.
