Before entering Jerusalem Jesus says that two of his disciples must find an ass that no one has ever ridden, and bring it to him. If anyone asks about it they are to say "The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly." As Jesus rides into Jerusalem some people throw their capes to the ground, while others cover the road with palm leaves. Later Jesus goes to the temple to inspect it. (Mark 11:1-11; Matthew 21:1-11; Luke 19:28-40). In this scene Jesus is shown entering Jerusalem on an ass while the people give him a warm welcome.
