| Description | |
The facade and pediment was redecorated towards the end of the 19th century. However, in 1965 the wat was badly damaged during bad weather and was subsequently rebuilt on a reinforced concrete base. The present building is in Luang Prabang II style and features a single porch and a triple nave with six bays.
Situated opposite the "Elephant" restaurant, the pagoda is richly decorated with stencils. In a style inspired by that of Vientiane (see the architectural section), the temple has one of the most dazzlingly beautiful coloured roofs (as that of Wat Sene).
